A Writing Prompt That Looks Into Your Future

Filed in: Uncategorized

I hope I’m as beautiful as she is when I’m her age. But I’m terrible at braiding.

This is a writing prompt that looks into your future. Don’t fret – you still only need to sit still for fifteen minutes or so. (And you also get to write about the type of senior you will be.)

First, let’s look at the present day.

This shouldn’t be too difficult for you. I want you to write about an elderly person in your life.  Are they a relative or friend? Are they a neighbor?  Are they someone who rings in your groceries? Do you feel a connection with them? Why or why not?  What is a trait you’ve discovered about them?

And now we step into a time machine.

Spend fifteen minutes writing about what an ordinary day will look like when you’re a senior. Not a Junior-Senior as my husband says. (lol.) But a Senior-Senior. You’re in your 90s and you’re in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Did you hear that? Your time machine just started its engines!
